Ayu-bowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka. Your adventure begins in the town of Negombo, located close to Bandaranaike International Airport.

After you exit Colombo International airport, Mango Vacations guide will meet you at Arrival lobby in the airport and  take you to a luxurious and comfortable vehicle and drive you to Negombo which will be your first stop for this Adventure Tour in Sri Lanka. Negombo is home to a very friendly and bustling fishing community. While there, visit the Dutch Canal, also called the Hamilton Canal, which used to be part of the colonial spice route used by the Dutch East India Company. The canal connects the coast with the Negombo Lagoon and can be visited on foot or by boat. It’s a great look into old colonial Sri Lanka living.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Trincomalee. En route, visit Point Pedro (which is the longest point in the north of the country) & Keerimalai (famous for its freshwater pools with healing effects)

Afterthat, continue the journey to Trincomalee. Trincomalee is known for its large natural harbour which is regarded as the world’s second best harbour of its kind. Being on the east, almost any beach in Trincomalee is best for watching the first light of dawn. Check in to the hotel. Walk around the hot water pools and get a glimpse of the urban life in the East Coast. Return to the hotel and relax.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to visit Fort Frederik, the Koneswaram Temple & Pigeon Island Tour. Trincomalee has some of the important religious attractions of Sri Lanka. The first Buddhist stupa of Sri Lanka was built in Trincomalee, and it is believed that Princess Hemamala and Prince Dantha landed on the island with the sacred tooth relic in this region. The hindu temple Koneswaram is also one of the top religious places in the island. Return to the hotel and relax

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Ella. Your hotel is located in Ella with the view of most famous Ella Rock. Check in to the hotel & Relax. Ella is a small village in the highlands of Sri Lanka which is filled with tea estates, mountains, waterfalls and of course with some good air to breath.

Evening, Descover the Nine Arch Bridge & Ravana Waterfall in Ella. The Nine Arches Bridge also called the Bridge in the Sky, is a viaduct bridge in Sri Lanka. It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. It is in Demodara, between Ella and Demodara railway stations. Return to the hotel and Relax.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya by Train.

Enjoy a Train Ride from Ella to Nanu Oya. (Morning Train – around 7.00 am) (Note: Train ticket seats will depend on availability. 1st, 2nd and 3rd class seats are bookable 30 days before the train journey date.). 

A ride that takes you through some of the best views of the hill country in Sri Lanka. A “must see and experience” for any tourist.

On this day, you will be driving to Nuwara elliya. Evening, City tour inculding the Tea Plantation and Factory (try some fresh variety of tea), Lover’s Leap Waterfall, Victoria Park & Gregory Lake. Nuwara Eliya is often referred as ‚Little England‘ because many of the buildings are from the British colonial period, such as the Queen’s Cottage, Grand Hotel, Hill Club and Town Post Office. Sri Lanka, Tea and Tourism are words which cannot be separated. Head for the cold and misty hills. Enjoy the heavenly scent and make sure to end your day in style over cool climate. Check in to the hotel & Relax.

Day 2

Ealry Morning, we will be driving to Horton plains National park with a packed breakfast. Evening, we will explore the centre. This little town is covered with many bars and restaurant for you.

Return to the hotel and relax.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Sigiriya. En route, visit the Hindu temple & the most famous Spice Garden in Matale. Afeterwards, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the central part of Sri Lanka. It’s renowned for its impressive cave complex, which houses ancient statues and paintings that date back to the 1st century BC.

Day 2

Early morning, with the noise of birds …time to wake up… get the hiking shoes, grab your camera and head to climb the incredible Sigiriya Lion Rock. Sigiriya is one of the most famous and attractive places in Sri Lanka. Sigiriya means Lion’s Rock. The height of the rock is around 200 meters. According to the history of Sri Lanka this rock was used as a kingdom in Sri Lanka by king Kashyapa in the 5th century. Promise you… it’s going to be an amazing day. See the ancient wall paintings, the sanskrit marked mirror wall and the huge stone lion paws guarding the ascent to the summit. The views from the top are unrivalled as you travel through time examining the ruins. From here you can view the national parks of Minneriya and Kaudulla where you can see the life of elephants.

Return to the hotel for Breakfast. Late Afternoon, transfer to enjoy a Jeep safari to Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. (Note: Depending on the date of travel the safari will take place either in Kaudulla or Eco National parks, according to Elephant migration patterns). The park is famous for its large elephant herds along with other wild animal sightings. This national park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants, which are often present in huge numbers. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Wewa, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to also provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles and leopards. Retrun to the hotel.
