Day 1 Arrival to Sri Lanka

Ayu-bowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka. Your Historical tour begins in the town of Negombo, located close to Bandaranaike International Airport.

After you exit Colombo International airport, Mango Vacations guide will meet you at Arrival lobby in the airport and take you to a luxurious and comfortable vehicle and drive you to Negombo which will be your first stop for this Historical Tour in Sri Lanka.

Here is the perfect place to enjoy the beach and realx your day after long flight. The beautiful surrounding countryside is best explored on a bicycle, which will be offered by Mango Vacations free of Charge.

Day 2 Drive to the cultural triangle/ Sigiriya

Today, After breakfast we are going to drive to the cutural triangle Dambulla-Sigiriya.

Sigiriya is a one of the most famous and attractive places in Sri Lanka. Sigiriya means lion’s rock. Hight of the rock is around 200 meters. According to the history of Sri Lanka this rock used as a kingdom in Sri Lanka by king Kashyapa in 5th century.

So” time to do some hiking, grab your camera and head out to climb the incredible Sigiriya Rock.

Promise you… its going to be amazing . View the ancient wall paintings, the sanskript marked mirror wall and the huge stone lion paws guarding the ascent to the summit. The view from the top are unrivalled as you travel through time examining the ruins. From here you can view the national parks of Minneriya and Kaudulla where you can see hundreds of elephants. After Lion Rock we will proceed to Polonnaruwa and then a trip off the road.

Day 3 Drive to Kandy

Today say good bye to Sigiryia and moving to kandy, second largest city in SriLanka.

We will stop at Dambulla cave temple and the spice garden on the way, to learn about where our favourite spices come from. Then we will head to the hills that provide a stunning view of the artificial but now notoriously beautiful Kandy Lake. You will be staying ina hotel with wonderful view of the city and the lake.

You will visit the Temple of the Tooth and the cultural dance show during the day.

Day 4 Tea Tour in Nuwara Eliya

Today we will head to Nuwara elliya but before there is something exiting to vist botanical garden in kandy and then It’s time to explore the tea region of Nuwara Eliya. On the way you can visit a tea factory and learn the tea making process. Also try some fresh variety of tea. Nuwara Eliya is often referred as ‘Little England’ because many of the buildings are from the British colonial period, such as the Queen’s Cottage, Grand Hotel, Hill Club and Town Post Office. Sri Lanka, Tea and Tourism are words which cannot be separated. Head for the cold and misty hills. Enjoy the heavenly scent and make sure to end your day in style over cool climate.

Day 5 Scenic Train Trip to Ella

After breakfast it´s time to say goodbye to Kandy and head to Nuwara Elliya. During the tour you will see some beautiful waterfalls and tea garden. You will be riding the best train ride to Ella. Our guide will meet you in Ella train station. Its time to explore the hidden gems of Ella, such as the Nine Arch Bridge, Ella Gap and then hike up the Little Adams Peak for sunset.
