Arrival in Colombo

Ayu-bowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka! Your adventure begins as you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, the vibrant capital of Sri Lanka.
As you exit the airport, your friendly Mango Vacations guide will be waiting for you at the Arrival Lobby, holding a sign with your name.
You’ll be escorted to a luxurious, comfortable vehicle for a smooth and relaxing transfer to your selected hotel in Colombo.

Afternoon: Check-in and Relax

Upon arrival at your hotel in Colombo, check-in and get settled in your room.

Day 2 Sigiriya

Morning: Departure from Colombo

After a refreshing breakfast, check out from your hotel in Colombo and begin your scenic journey to Sigiriya, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka.
Tropical Fruit Stop – On your way, stop at a local street vendor to enjoy complimentary seasonal tropical fruits, giving you a taste of Sri Lanka’s fresh and delicious produce.

Afternoon: Check-in and Relax

Arrive in Sigiriya and check-in to your hotel. Take a moment to relax and refresh before your next adventure.

Late Afternoon: Jeep Safari Adventure

In the late afternoon, head out for an exciting Jeep safari in either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. Both parks are famous for their rich wildlife, including herds of wild elephants, exotic birds, and other native species. Enjoy a thrilling ride through the park’s diverse landscapes.

(Note: Depending on the date of travel the safari will take place either in Kaudulla or Eco National parks, according to Elephant migration patterns). The park is famous for its large elephant herds along with other wild animal sightings. This national park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants, which are often present in huge numbers. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Wewa, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to also provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles and leopards. Retrun to the hotel.

Early Morning: Sigiriya Lion Rock Hike

Wake up to the sounds of birds in the early morning and get ready for a memorable day.
Hiking to Sigiriya Lion Rock – Put on your hiking shoes, grab your camera, and begin your hike to the iconic Sigiriya Rock, also known as Lion’s Rock. Standing 200 meters tall, this ancient rock fortress was once a royal palace for King Kashyapa in the 5th century.
Explore the ancient wall paintings, the Sanskrit-marked mirror wall, and the massive stone lion paws guarding the ascent to the summit.
At the top, enjoy unrivalled panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks, where herds of elephants roam.
